Dr. Meredith O’Loughlan
MAppSc(Res), BAppSc(HB),BAppSc(CM),BSW,ACNEM
Drawing on extensive study, over 20 years of clinical practice, and 25 years of living drug-free with Multiple Sclerosis after overcoming chronic gut challenges alongside surgical intervention, Dr. Meredith has restored optimal function across her body by harnessing the power of the gut–brain axis. She brings a unique depth of expertise and passion to health optimisation, focusing on enhancing mood, cognition, and whole-body vitality to support sustained wellbeing and peak performance.
Dr. Meredith’s Masters research in Applied Science (Laboratory Pharmacology) was the first to show how Australian-grown Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza) protects nitric oxide — a key molecule for blood vessel health. Nitric oxide is a crucial molecule for increasing brain cognition, playing a vital role in learning and memory by increasing blood flow to the brain, this impacting on our overall health and performance.

Functional Medicine is a modern, science-based approach to personalised healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness, rather than just managing symptoms. It utilises advanced diagnostic testing to evaluate the body’s functional status across key systems, including digestion (e.g. Microbiome Mapping, Intestinal Permeability Testing, Comprehensive Stool Analysis, SIBO Breath Testing, Food Sensitivity Profiling), Dutch Hormonal Test, Inflammatory Markers & cardiometabolic health.
Unlike conventional medicine, Functional Medicine acknowledges that standard lab results may not fully capture an individual’s symptoms or overall health status. Functional Medicine offers deeper insights into each individual's unique biochemistry and genetics, helping to resolve ongoing health issues and optimise daily performance. It is rapidly gaining mainstream attention as more people seek a smarter, more integrative path to lasting health.
Tailored nutritional medicine & supplements are prescribed during 1:1 consultations based on individual Bio-pattern Mapping & further Functional Medicine assessments &/ or other assessments, scans blood tests results.

Eastern Medicine (Chinese Medicine) is a comprehensive, evidence-informed medical system with over 3,000 years of continuous practice. It encompasses a rich body of clinical knowledge and deep philosophical understanding, used to interpret the subtle signs, symptoms, and patterns of health and disease.
Eastern Medicine views the body as an interconnected system where physical, mental, emotional, and energetic aspects influence one another. Its goal is to restore internal balance and support the body's innate capacity for healing through therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, mind-body practices, dietary therapy, and energy movement practices.
Eastern Medicine is guided by the principles of harmony, prevention, and pattern differentiation, offering a personalised and integrative approach to health. It complements modern biomedical science and is increasingly supported by research exploring how herbal medicine and acupuncture can assist in managing various health conditions, reducing stress, enhancing cognitive and whole body health, overall performance and disease prevention. Dr Meredith completed her Masters degree in Applied Science (laboratory pharmacology) on actions of the herb Dan shen, Salvia miltiorrhiza and its effect on nitric oxide, which is an emerging field for tageting cognitive and brain health to achieve health optimisation.
Dr. Meredith’s herbal dispensary houses over 300 herbal medicines, individually prescribed based on each person’s primary concerns and clinical presentation, following a detailed pattern of differentiation and diagnosis.

Neurobiome is the connection between the brain, nervous system, and gut microbiome - the biology that shapes how we think, feel, and perform.
Neurobiome is the integration of Functional Medicine and Eastern Medicine, combining advanced diagnostic testing with time-honoured Eastern principles to uncover and address the root causes of health imbalances unique to each individual.
The Neurobioome approach is enriched with the unique Bio-pattern Mapping method, developed by Dr. Meredith to address her own personal health journey and establish effective, long-lasting solutions for her patients. Dr. Meredith’s approach to health recognises that due to our modern day living, our gut and whole body health no longer functions as it once did - impacted by industrialisation, modern dietary habits, elevated stress levels and environmental changes. These factors have disrupted our internal ecosystems affecting digestion, immune resilience, cognitive health, brain health and overall wellbeing.
The interplay of integrating both Functional Medicine and Eastern Medicine, Neurobime and Bio-pattern Mapping provides scientific evaluation and practice wisdom, achieving excellence in health and performance and disease prevention.
